Anastasia Mroch

(Chem/OChem)

Anastasia Mroch has a B.Sc. in Chemistry, a M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry and a B.Ed in Intermediate/Senior Chemistry and Physics.  During her studies, she discovered her passion for teaching Chemistry and Organic Chemistry and she received the Don Tavares Teaching Award in 2004.  After graduation, Anastasia worked in industry for several years but returned to teaching in 2010 and has since made it her focus. While she takes Chemistry very seriously, her approach in the classroom is to make the learning process as relaxed and as enjoyable as possible for students.

Andrea Kassay

(Physics)

Andrea Kassay is currently studying for an Honor Specialization in Medical Biophysics (Clinic Physics Concentration) at Western University and scored a 515 on the MCAT. She is applying to medical school for this upcoming year. Andrea volunteers at the Student Development Centre for the Peer Assisted Learning Centre as both a math and physics tutor. Andrea loves helping students by giving them the confidence and skills to succeed in their courses!

Austyn Roseborough

Austyn Roseborough completed her HBSc. in Developmental Biology, and scored a 520 on the MCAT. She is currently a Master’s student at Western University, studying Clinical Anatomy.  As a TA for undergraduate histology, Austyn loves to share her biology expertise and works hard to provide her students with a constructive learning environment. Dr. MEg Haggitt

(Chem/OChem, Bio/Biochem)

Dr. Meg Haggitt has completed her Ph.D in Biochemistry and Genetics and a H.B.Sc.Co-op in Biology, specialising in functional characterisation of an enzyme and its regulation. She earned the prestigious Julie Payette NSERC Research Scholarship upon entry to graduate school, being named one of the top 24 students in Canada for all science and engineering. Meg has been teaching undergraduate students since 2005, and began full-time tutoring biology, biochemistry and chemistry undergraduate students in 2015. She loves engaging and interacting students with science topics, and focuses on using analogies to explain complex concepts easily.

Katanya Alaga

Katanya Alaga has completed a B.M.Sc with Honours in Medical Science. She is now  studying for a M.Sc. in Anatomy and Cell Biology. Her teaching experience includes upper year physiology tutorials, where she learned to plan lessons and explain tough concepts in a simple, engaging manner. Katanya has a knack for connecting concepts to the bigger picture to help students get excited about the material and be able to apply it to everyday problems. Her experience in research has given her the skills to critically analyze and solve passage-based problems and she will pass this along to students to facilitate their learning.

Katie Hynes

(Phys/Soc)

Katie Hynes has completed a B.Sc. (Honours) in Biomedical Sciences and Psychology at the University of Ottawa and scored a 33 on the MCAT. She is currently enrolled in medical school at Western University. Katie’s teaching experience includes tutoring groups of first-year students in various Anatomy and Physiology courses. In summer 2014, she also worked as a Statistics TA.  Katie currently works as a clinical research coordinator at the Ottawa Hospital and has extensive knowledge in research methods and statistical analysis. Her teaching style aims to break down complex topics into smaller, manageable pieces. Katie also has a lot of practical tips and memory tricks to help students feel more comfortable and confident when faced with with difficult subjects.

Lama Mouneimne

Lama Mouneimne is pursuing a 5th year in the Fall to complete her Honours Specialization in Genetics with a major in Medical Sciences at Western University, and she scored 510 on the MCAT last summer. She has a well-rounded background in the various life sciences, achieving straight As since her 2nd year, as well as the social sciences, with 3.0 worth of psychology credits as electives. Lama has private tutoring experience ranging from high school mathematics, chemistry, and biology, to first year chemistry. Mark Beider

Mark Beider has completed a combined B.A. and M.A. in Mathematics. He scored a 167 (95th percentile) on the LSAT (Reading Comprehension on the LSAT is very similar to Verbal Reasoning on the MCAT), and he has been one of our top-rated LSAT prep instructors since 2008. Mark is now working on a Ph.D. in Probability Theory at York University. He has many years of experience as a private tutor, as well one year as a lecturer at the university level. Stephanie Lammers

(Cars)

Stephanie Lammers holds a M.D from Queen’s University, as well as a B. Sc. with a Major in Medical Sciences from Western University. She is currently an Obstetrics & Gynaecology Resident Doctor at London Health Sciences Centre and Western University. Fuelled by her passion for the arts complementary to her passion for the sciences in equal measure, Stephanie most enjoyed the Verbal Reasoning (now Critical Analysis & Reasoning Skills) section while writing her MCAT in 2011. She believes that critical analysis of written works as well as test-taking are best approached as skills that can be acquired and polished with thoughtful study and practice. Stephanie looks forward to working tirelessly with her students to optimize their MCAT outcome.
